That was me this last saturday for, oh...6 HOURS. Yeah...not exactly fun, but you have no idea how grateful I was to be there.
It all started Friday night, about 6 PM. I just got home from the grocery store, and my stomach was starting to grumble...and not in a good way. It was scrapbook night, and I hadn't been in many, MANY months, so I was so excited to finally be able to go. I went straight upstairs to take a hot bath and lay down for a minute to get rid of the wierd feeling I had going on. At 8:00 I knew I wasn't going anywhere. then from about 9:00 on, I was in the bathroom every hour doing something on the potty. (I'll spare you the details) :) at 3:00 AM I headed back to the bathroom and after doing my thing, I started crying. I was Dan's patient for his Dental Board exam. Me, and only me. I was his last back up after the other patients hadn't worked out. If I didn't make it there in the morning, he would fail. His next exam would be in August. In Dallas, Tx. He would have to fly himself and any patients out there. We would be unemployed until at least January when he could finally get his license.
NO way! I wanted to scream to my body! I have to be there. I WILL be there. No matter how I felt. But then I remembered this:
ARGH. Well, like I said, I was RELIEVED to have the thing in my mouth all day. I was so glad to be there. I prayed HARD that morning, as I slowly (2 hours) got ready, dropped the kids off at a friend's, and drove to school. I had bawled to my sister already that morning, and I knew she had been praying for me too. As I got closer and closer to the school, I felt better and better. Not great, but better. I could do this. I did do it.
It was a long day, but Dan did awesome! We're pretty sure he passed and he did it so fast! We thought I might have to come back on Sunday, but he finished it all on Saturday...with time to spare! He IS a great Dentist!

How awful! I'm so glad that you were feeling better for his exam. What a relief.
Oh Trisa, If I had known I could have thrown a couple prayers your way. I am glad that you were able to make it. What a great wife and mother you are. I bet you are so relieved to be pretty much done. Is there still time to convince you guys to move to Idaho??
Oh man Trisa! Right after you dropped the kids off I had them kneel down with me to offer a prayer on your behalf. They were angels the whole day (like usual). I am so glad it all turned out. Whew! You are an amazing mom and wife. And, thanks again for accompanying us on Sunday. You do it all!:)
Trisa = AMAZING!
I am so glad that everything worked out! Tell Dan congrats on doing such a great job with is exam!
I am so proud of you for surviving . . . and that it is all over!! A total (although miserable) trooper! And congrats to Dan! Wish were were there to celebrate
Your post made me cry...(with a little help from my hormonal overload). I too, have this amazing sense of relief these days and like Heavenly Father has carried it through these last difficult months. Seven years we've been doing this! We all said how much we missed you Friday night and wondered where you were. I wish we had known you were in such bad shape!
I am so sorry. We would have prayed for you to. So very grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that hears and answers prayers and is there for us to talk to. Tell Dan congratulations. We are so proud of him. He'll be a fabulous dentist and a dang good looking one too. :) Thanks so much for the book suggestions. I didn't want to be too mushy on my blog about the twilight series but I loved them too. I didn't like The Host as well as the twilight books but it was still very very good. I'll put your books on my list. Thanks again.
Wow, Tia. You are amazing. So is Dan. Way to go, guys. Congratulations.
Dude. I can't imagine being sick AND having to be somewhere with something required of me. Yuck. I'm so happy for y'all that it's over!
