What's new?

What's new with the Perry's?

Well, Michael got Brinly to laugh. Her first laugh!
After she giggled for him a few times, I got her to giggle for me a few times. She hasn't since that day... (sigh) It's the most beautiful sound and I can't wait to hear it again! She's getting less stingy with her smiles, so hopefully her laughs aren't too far behind.

Michael got a "big-boy" bike and LOVES it. Sometimes, he rides it to drop Chelsea off at the bus stop, and to pick her up again. He loves to go zooming fast!

Check out the concentration on his face as he works so hard on the "hill".

We have been working hard in our yard to get grass in before winter. You might notice the yard in one of the bicycle pictures. We pretty much dug up the entire yard by hand, in search of bermuda grass roots. Then we leveled it off with rakes and sweat. :)

Finally, it was time to hydro-seed. This is where they come and spray the ground with a mixture of water, glue, fertilizer, and grass seed.
Now, all we have to do, is make sure the ground stays wet so the seeds can germinate and make us a beautiful, lush, green lawn.

However, nature seems to have something against us. Here's the pathetic story:

Our neighborhood is still being developed. There are several lots that have not been built on that have weeds taller than we are. The HOA hires landscaping crews to come out and level out the weeds, once in a while. The day Dan and Chelsea were to fly out to Texas to join me and Michael (upcoming post) the landscapers were doing just this. The worker somehow busted a main water line for the irrigation water, so the city had to shut it off until they could repair it. Dan tried to soak the lawn before he left for the airport the best he could. The water was turned off for about 2 full days, both with temperatures in the upper 90's. UGh!!!! We're hoping the seeds somehow survived and germinated, but so far, it's not looking good. To make things worse, the temperature this week is to be in the LOW 60's! Looks like we'll be seeding again in the spring. We'll keep you updated.

We do have good news, though! Our blinds finally arrived! We have privacy again!!!!

GREAT preschool!

So, my sister, Tami, is ammmmmaaazzzing.

She has started a preschool in her home and is doing an awesome job. I was able to witness it first hand.  She has so many creative ideas that she uses with her kids, and these 4-5 yr olds are already starting to READ! They are definitely going to be prepared for preschool!

Anyway, she has started a blog for her preschool, where she posts many of her fun ideas. These would be great ideas to use with your own kids, play-dates, whatever. She's also posting songs, and has links to other great websites.

check it out here.

Beautiful Girls

How lucky am I to be the mother of these beauties?!

I recently got Chelsea and Brinly's pictures done. Brinly, for her blessing, and Chelsea for her birthday pics. I LOVED Brinly's, and was disappointed in the quality of Chelsea's, but that's what you get when you only pay $4 a sheet. :) Overall, I'm happy with them.

So, for those of you who can't come to my home and see these pictures plastered all over my walls, here ya go!

This is why I don't mind getting up for midnight feedings....

And I got about 4 sheets of just this pose...
Isn't she delicious!?

Her Beautiful dress...

...with it's much-to-big-for-her-tiny-head-hat:

Need a close-up? Warning: It'll make you drool!

Please note:
1) The perfect little lips
2) the sweet little nose
3) the perfect blue-eyes
4) the most edible cheeks!

And just for cuteness-sake:
"Are we done yet? I've got a cramp in my neck!"

I can't believe my baby girl is 6 now!

Those eyes just kill me. I have to not look directly at them, or she'll gain complete power over me.

"PLEASE help me to not be a blogging-fanatic like my mother...."

Trip to Utah

So, these posts will be all out of order, but oh well.

On one of the days we were in Utah, we hiked to a small waterfall in Payson Canyon. It's the perfect hike for little kids because it's only 1/4 mile, not to strenuous, with lots of fun "bridges" to cross.

My little brother (not so little anymore) Evan, became Michael's best friend on the hike. Michael told him anything and everything!

The water at the falls is numbing cold, but the little pool it makes is too irresistible!
Last year Dan actually stood in the falls. BRRRR!

My dad.

Mom and Chelsea

My brother's dogs...Tito and Toby. I still can't tell which is which...

My brother Nathan, and his oldest boy, Cannon.

My sister-in-law, Molly (sorry about the funny picture Molly!) and my adorable Nephew, Noah. This kids' legs go a mile a minute...like he's dancing an irish-jig. It's hilarious!

Me and Brinly. Yup, she slept the whole way.

It was a quick hike, but just enough to take the remainder of Michael's energy away. Finally!

So far behind...

Do you ever get so far behind, you don't know where to start? So, you just don't?

well, here's for starting! :) I gave up on trying to organize the following pictures, so enjoy the randomness!

Here are one of my sleeping beauties!

And here she is awake...on her first day of first grade at her new school! Even though we moved only a mile away, we switched elementary schools. Her new school is HUGE and looks like a highschool. I think there are 6 or 7 1st grade teachers, each with about 23 students.

She is LOVING school, and comes home so excited to tell me all about her day. I LOVE that.

Michael will be starting preschool in a few weeks. On Tuesday, they had a "playdate" with all their classmates at a park. I was so relieved to see him find a playmate so quickly...

...and even appear to be a ring-leader of the boys...teaching them to jump off the picnic table on to the concrete. Nice.

His teachers seem really nice, and briefly introduced themselves to the kids. Tomorrow is his first mini-day, where I get to go with him for an hour. his REAL day starts next Tuesday. I'm sure there will be kicking and screaming involved, so I hope his teachers are ready. I did warn them...

Wow. I have a twin?

HAve you ever been told "you look like so and so?"

I've been told that a few times, but not many.

I was checking out this site (hilarious, by the way) and this was an ad on the side. It seriously made my heart beat fast as I thought "What?! What am I doing on this website!" I had to take a few double takes to MAKE sure it wasn't me!

What do you think? Is it me? or is it just me that thinks so?

funny stuff!

I got this link from Young House Love's facebook update. VERY funny stuff.

I've got posts coming, I swear.
